Warren A. Sawyer Lecture

The Warren A. Sawyer Lecture is named in memory of Warren Sawyer who served as Director of Libraries at the Medical University of South Carolina from 1968 until his death in November 1989. Mr. Sawyer was a long-time member of the Waring Library Society of which he served as president. The fall lecture is This lecture is free and open to the public.

Joseph I. Waring, Jr. Lecture

The Waring Lecture is named in memory of Dr. Joseph I. Waring, a local pediatrician and medical historian, who became the first director of the medical history collections of the University. This Spring lecture takes place annually, and is free and open to the public.
