Volunteer Opportunities

The Waring Historical Library welcomes volunteers who can provide administrative, library, and curatorial assistance. In recent years, student interns and volunteers have worked on archival processing project, developing physical and online exhibits, digitization and scanning projects, photograph identification, rare book inventories, and the transcription thousands of pages of inaugural theses written by Medical College students between 1825 and 1860.

Please contact the Waring's curator, JoAnn Zeise, at zeise@musc.edu for information about opportunities to share your talents with the Waring.

Internships

College students may be eligible for college credit for internships or volunteer service at the library. Typical projects include processing archival and manuscript collections, building digital collections, and preparing physical exhibits. For more information, please contact JoAnn Zeise or the Waring's Digital Archivist, Tabitha Samuel at samuel@musc.edu.
