Join us for the March 2024 Student History Club (SHC) with Dr. Nitsan Chorev. Dr. Chorev will present, "Can foreign aid work? Lessons from local pharmaceutical production in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda."
Nitsan Chorev is the Harmon Family Professor of Sociology and International and Public Affairs at Brown University. She holds a PhD degree in sociology from New York University, and BA degrees in law and in economics. Chorev specializes in global political economy. She is the author of three books: Give and Take: Developmental Foreign Aid and the Pharmaceutical Industry in East Africa, published by Princeton University Press in 2020; The World Health Organization between North and South, published by Cornell University Press in 2012; and Remaking U.S. Trade Policy: From Protectionism to Globalization, published by Cornell University Press in 2007.
