In this compelling talk, the author will share personal encounters with remarkable nurses, drawing us into their inspiring stories. From ancient origins to the present, discover how nursing has evolved and the invaluable role it plays in communities. Titled after the words of Lavinia Dock RN, a trailblazing suffragist, this event will delve into the fight against injustice, highlighting the powerful impact of nurses and their enduring legacy.

Join us for the November 2023 Student History Club (SHC) Noon Lecture, featuring Sarah DiGregorio, the critically acclaimed author of An Intimate History of Premature Birth and What It Teaches Us About Being Human and Taking Care: The Story of Nursing and its Power to Change Our World. She is a journalist who has written on health care and other topics for the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Slate and Insider, among others.
