2024 MUSC STUDENT PITCH COMPETITION

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

• Select a MUSC faculty member for mentorship complete redcap form to enter/register submit your video pitch by March 15, 2024. https://redcap.musc.edu/surveys/?s=X4JRY9LXWN33WKJP
• Finalists will be selected to participate in the live event on April 15, 2024!
• Attention: This competition is public and participating may compromise future Intellectual Property (IP) rights. For questions and help to avoid loss of future IP, contact MUSC Foundation of Research Development BEFORE submission of your idea.

RULES & REQUIREMENT FOR PARTICIPANTS

• Must be a student at MUSC.
• Need a faculty sponsor prior to registering (funding will be awarded to faculty member).
• May participate individually or as a team (2- 3 students).
• Idea should be healthcare related.
• Video submission need to be under 5 minutes and 1-2 slides.

IMPORTANT DATES

• January 29, 2024: Registration & Video Pitch Submission Opens.
• March 15, 2024: Registration & Video Pitch Submission Closes.
• March 22, 2024: Three Finalists will be Selected & Notified.
• April 15, 2024: Student Pitch Competition Live Event (Part of MUSC Innovation Week) Event will be held in-person, finalists will present using 1-2 slides. Judges will select a winner!
• April 29, 2024: Winners Will Be Awarded $2500.

PREVIOUS YEAR TIPS FOR SUCCESS

• Include the following in your video submission Background to the problem.
• Your solution in detail.
• If similar solution exists, highlight what is unique about your solution.
• Your solution's targeted market, population, & audience.
• An itemized budget for the awarded $2500 1-year timeline for implementation of your project.
