Mission Statement: The Student Innovation Ambassadors foster routine discussions that aim to resolve campus wide healthcare related problems using modern technology and innovation. The organization shall bridge the gap between student-led innovative endeavors and campus wide initiatives led by the university. Our main goal is to provide a platform for entrepreneurial development, and technological innovation in healthcare systems, driven by student representatives from all six colleges of the Medical University of South Carolina.

MUSC Student Innovation Ambassador Program

  • The MUSC Student Innovation Ambassador Program aims to instill and deepen the culture of innovation among MUSC students.
  • Applicants must:
    • Have an interest in promoting innovative ideas that positively impact public health and projects that improve health outcomes.
    • Be willing to serve as student resource persons for the MUSC Office of Innovation.
    • Willingness to participate in educational events and discussions about healthcare innovation, challenges, and fostering innovative solution.

Available Positions

  • Student Ambassador Secretary
  • College Representative (COM, COP, CON, etc...)
  • General Student Ambassador

  • Access to practical training on adapting technology for biomedical applications to solve real-world problems.
  • Opportunity to learn about innovation and different technological advancements taking place on MUSC’s Campus
  • Team-based experiences with diverse groups of students, faculty, and MUSC Innovation Program staff.

Application Requirements

  • Must be a student and enrolled in a degree-seeking program at MUSC

Duties

  • Host Student Pitch Week and Plan Innovation Week
  • Including Shark Tank Pitch!
  • Meetings: Monthly, including discussion and planning of upcoming programs.
  • Ambassadors are expected to attend at least 8 out of 10 meetings
  • Establish relationships with Innovation faculty representatives and Innovation Program staff.
