The PULL A-HEAD program was developed to address health disparities in head and neck cancer in South Carolina. PULL A-HEAD stands for Pursuing Leadership in Literacy to Ameliorate HEAd and neck cancer Disparities. This community-centered initiative aims to increase health literacy and improve the efficacy of navigating the healthcare system for early detection of head and neck cancers. By prioritizing strategies that intersect healthcare and community, the program seeks to enhance the quality and equity of oral cancer prevention in rural South Carolina. Through innovative approaches, such as community libraries and collaborations with the National Library of Medicine (NIH) region 2 medical library, PULL A-HEAD aims to make a meaningful impact in addressing head and neck cancer disparities
