We invite you to partner with us for the 5th Annual Culturally Sensitive Care program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). This program aims to educate MUSC employees and students in culturally sensitive care approaches using the framework of the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards published by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS) Office of Minority Health. This year, topics will be primarily focused on addressing the healthcare needs of the Hispanic/Latino community with updates from local, state, and national guest speakers including topics such as addressing language barriers, working with immigrant populations, policies and advocacy, and more. Sessions will also include discussion on health disparities, racial/ethnic factors, social determinants of health, and vulnerable/underserved populations.
This workshop is being coordinated by the MUSC College of Health Professions and MUSC Libraries in collaboration with the MUSC Office of Equity, the MUSC Office of Student Programs and Student Diversity, and other related departments within the university.
