2021 Workshop Learning Objectives

By the end of the Workshop sessions, participants will:

  • Identify the role of various health professionals in addressing the healthcare needs of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Describe strategies and resources for culturally sensitive care in addressing the healthcare needs of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Discuss case scenarios from past, present, and future practice related to the healthcare needs of the LGBTQIA+ community

This year topics will be primarily related to addressing the healthcare needs of the LGBTQIA+ community with updates from local, state, and national guest speakers including topics such as terminology/pronouns, inclusive workforce, policies and advocacy, mental health, transgender community needs, and sexual health. Sessions will also include discussion on health disparities, racial/ethnic factors, social determinants of health, and vulnerable/underserved populations.
