Transfer Your Office Files

What We Collect

Are you retiring? Moving to a new office? Running out of storage space?

The MUSC University Archives encourages members of the MUSC community to play an active role in preserving the institution's history by transferring to the Archives office records of permanent historical value or by donating faculty papers reflective of one's tenure with the university. The associated faculty, staff, and alumni guidelines provides donors with the criteria for identifying records suitable for long-term preservation. Faculty, staff, and  alumni are encouraged to donate records from their tenure with MUSC.

The Archives works in conjunction with the University's Records Management Program to ensure the lawful preservation of all records of the university and its colleges and departments. Inactive records that have ongoing administrative value need to be transferred to the University Records Center for storage.

For assistance in determining the status of your records, contact the University Archivist, visit URC's web site or call 843-554-4103.

The Quick Records Schedule Guide provides a list of record types that are permanent and should be transferred to the University Archives at the end of their scheduled disposition period.
