The Waring's newsletter has a new look! Anna Schuldt, the Waring's Assistant, took the lead on the redesign and has a few words to introduce the latest issue:

"Typically, the WLS Newsletter abounded in the distinguished shade of maroon typically used in past Waring Library Society’s communications. When you take a look at the Spring 2020 Newsletter, you might be surprised at the abundance of MUSC Blue! The sudden negation of maroon might be an out of the blue change, but surely it is a necessary one.

In 2017, the Communications Governance Council issued a new policy regarding the enterprise brand standards. The MUSC Brand Standards and Identity Guide outlines graphic identity elements, color palette, typography and more that should be utilized in the materials created by all entities in the MUSC enterprise. A cohesive visual appearance is not only mandatory, but also beneficial for the Waring.

Often, the Waring Historical Library is described as a hidden gem. While it is our hope to continue to be a medical history gem in Charleston, the Waring deserves to gain notice within the MUSC and Charlestonian communities. We are proud to not only be a part of MUSC, but to collect its history. Following the MUSC Brand Standards will help communicate our institutional connection to MUSC, and hopefully shed light on us to the community.

I hope you enjoy the 58th edition of the Waring Library Society Newsletter, new formatting and all!"
